Which cookies we use

Updated: September 2026

Two groups, and nothing else. Strictly necessary cookies remember the choice you made in the consent banner and keep the connection on the same edge server while you read; without them the banner would reappear on every page. Measurement cookies belong to our own visitor counter, which records that a page was opened and from roughly where, without an identifier that follows you between sites.

Necessary cookies expire when you close the browser. Measurement cookies last twelve months and are refreshed on a return visit. No advertising or profiling cookie is set by this site.

Third-party cookies

The commercial links on this site run through a redirector, and that redirector sets a cookie of its own so the operator knows which site sent the visit. It records the referral, not your browsing: it does not read what else you have open and it does not travel with you to unrelated sites. What the operator does once you are on its own pages is covered by its privacy policy, not by ours — see our Affiliate Disclosure for the arrangement itself.

We embed no social widgets, no comment systems and no video players, so none of their cookies appear here either.

What cookies are

A cookie is a short piece of text a site asks your browser to keep and hand back on the next request. It cannot read files on your device, and by itself it holds nothing more than the string that was written into it.

Every browser lets you refuse or delete them: in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge the controls sit under privacy settings, and a private window discards them when it closes. Refusing measurement cookies costs you nothing on this site — every page stays fully readable. Refusing necessary cookies means the consent banner will ask again each time you open a page. What is recorded on the analytics side is described in the Privacy Policy.
